Michael leyden

Leyden is a Manhattan based abstract expressionist whose process and response to the volume of paint come together. The palette emerges from reclaimed paints on canvases measuring 36 x 37 inches allowing the viewer to distill themself in a volume of color that moves edge to edge.

The body of work, which includes Sauce, emerged from a collaboration of colors and construction. The gallerist and the artist edited and selected materials while the materials, found paints and metallics, remained a persistent parameter. Fifteen stretched canvases are the result of this discussion. Join the conversation and revisit the show through March 2019.
