“Point East”, a solo show with new paintings by Paul Catalanotto, opens March 25th and runs through June 25th, at Jack Jack’s Coffee House, 223 Deer Park Avenue, Babylon Village, 11702.

Catalanotto is a Brooklyn based artist who creates colorful and expansive works a unique plaster-based medium to produce a polished fresco.

The exhibition “Points East” here at Jack Jack’s gallery represents the latest state of Paul’s execution and dedication to the abstract art process.

Paul creates Polished Fresco artworks, evocative and colorful abstracts that look texture and three dimensional, but are flat, polished and smooth to the touch. Applying the medium with a steel trowel, Paul works the pigments around a field to settle in with a brilliant clarity and color harmony as seen in nature.

All works are for sale directly from 2JX Abstract Gallery.

Paul Catalanotto was schooled in industrial and graphic design at Carnegie Mellon University; and illustration, sculpture, photography and animation at Pratt Institute.
