Karina Matheus is the abstraction expressionist artist currently exhibited in the J2X Gallery at Jack Jack’s Coffee House. The paintings will be on view this summer.
Although many artists try to depict the Big Bang and evolution of the Universe, Karina was there. She saw it first hand and rushed to her studio to paint representations of her experience. She uses paint, brushes, and canvas materials and lets her arm do what it wants.
What it wants is to do is follow her momentum, her unconscious messages and impulses. Presto! tThe cosmos is all its magnificent beauty and chaos.
There are a variety of sizes to break down the universe into smaller parts of the story; planets, mon, starts, sun. These are all there covered by a space wind that blurs everything. Her brush knows where to go. She obeys her instincts and achieves a bond with universal forces. These paintings demand on of your large, white walls.
